Video Initiative of the Communications Strategy Committee of the Friends of Northwest
Purpose
The project is designed to be a series of videos that are at most 1.5 minutes long that are genuine and from the heart. A candid feel is the approach we are shooting for with a very personal touch – not slick and super professional. These subject of these videos will be the students, faculty, and alumni of NWSA.
There can be multiple videos provided by the same individual on different topics. We greatly appreciate the assistance of the alumni in sharing their personal experiences with potential students and parents. These videos will be used on the NWSA CMS school website and rotated through on a regular basis, the Facebook pages and websites of the Friends of Northwest and Theatre Arts Guild, and used to recruit new students at magnet fair days. We are hopeful that there are other ways to use this footage to promote our school in the community as well.
Format
- Setting – consider using a creative backdrop for your video. For example, if you are in NY, do it outside with a theater behind you. If you can find something picturesque that would be wonderful! If you want to do it in your office, that is great too.
- Introduce yourself by first name only, geographic location, major in school and graduation date.
- Response to suggested bullet points below.
- Conclusion – state in the last sentence how important it was to have the opportunity to attend NWSA and if you would recommend that someone considering NWSA should definitely .
Topics
Below are several topics that we thought would ideal to address in these videos. You do not have to address all of these points, just the ones that you feel are really important to you personally. Our goal is to let prospective students and their parents know that while attending NWSA is a wonderful opportunity to work on your arts, it also has a strong academic component, and leads to well rounded professionals that are successful in their business and personal lives due to the experiences they had at this school.
- What did you like best about attending NWSA?
- What was the culture like at NWSA when you attended? How long did you attend NWSA?
- How did you change by being able to be in the NWSA program? Did it make you more outgoing, successful, happy, etc? Please give an example of how that happened such as a teacher or event.
- Did your academics improve after you started to attend NWSA? Why was that so? Due to arts integration in your classes? Did someone tap into your joy of learning?
- What is your career now? Do you feel that NWSA influenced your choice?
- If you are in the arts, please tell what shows/productions/concerts/etc in which you have performed.
